Abstract
Efforts to improve the quality of concrete done both from the compressive strength of concrete & flexural continuasly. One of the latest concrete technologies is the use coconut shells & palm fiber. Research was carried out on the Effect of Coconut Shell & Palm Fibers on the Compressive Strength of Concrete. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of coconut shell & palm fiber on the compressive strength of concrete, water absorption & porosity in concrete, to determine the best composition of concrete using coconut shell & palm fiber. In this test, of the porosity, absorption & compressive strength at the age of 2 & 28 days. The concrete is made a cylinder with dimensions of 15 & 30 cm. The material used Palu sand. The material used Palu gravel. Coconut shell used 4%,5%,6% of composition the material ≤ 8 mm & the fibers used 6%,8%,10% ≤ 2 mm.The effect of coconut shell & palm fiber on variation of BV1 increases the compressive strength of concrete compared to BV3, but the absorption & porosity produced are smaller than BV3. The higher the composition of coconut shell & palm fiber, the higher absorption & porosity of the concrete.
