Abstract

Rubber tires are one of the largest wastes in Indonesia, to reduce the tire rubber waste by processing tire rubber waste into powder. In this researchers used rubber tire powder waste which aims to determine the effect of tire rubber powder on paving blocks and determine the value of compressive strength obtained by adding powder.


In the process of making this paving block using a ratio of 1: 2 with variations of 0%, 6%, 9% and 12% where the addition of this variation to cement so that the amount of cement from each paving block is reduced from the total number of variations, and press tests carried out at 14 days of curring 28 days of curring. 


From the addition of tire rubber powder according the variation of 0% 14 days produces a compressive strength of 5.646 Mpa; 28 days of curring produces a compressive strength of  6.399 Mpa. In variation 6% 14 days paving blocks produces a compressive strength of 10.915 Mpa; 28 days of curring produces a compressive strength of 14.68 Mpa. In the variation 9% 14 days paving blocks produces a compressive of 8.2 Mpa; 28 days of curring produces a compressive strength of  8.47 MPa.
