Abstract

subgrade is lowest layer of soil which serves as a pavement layer placement and supports the construction of road works on it. There are problems that often occur in the subgrade, among others: the nature of expanding and shrinking due to differences in the properties of the soil in the adjacent location.


Soil repairs are generally carried out to stabilize soils to have a good carrying capacity. Stabilization is effort made to improve certain properties of natural soil. For this test using lime as a mixture material to make repairs to the subgrade, because lime can increase the carrying capacity of the soil.


For variations in the mixture of lime ingredients in this series of tests, namely: 5%, 10%, 15%. Based on the results of this test the lime mixture can increase carrying capacity on subgrade 13.10% for 5% lime mixture, 17.99% for 10% lime mixture, and 21.19% for 15% mixture.


Therefore the limestone mixture material can be suggested as an ingredient for stabilization in the subgrade, with the hope that the carrying capacity of the soil can improve the soil which is poorly constructed will be better after stabilization with lime mixture.
