Abstract

Construction of buildings in East Kalimantan uses constituent materials imported from outside the city for coarse aggregates or fine aggregates. This makes the use of local aggregates, especially local fine aggregates located in Simpang Palaran District not widely used because the quality has not been tested, therefor the local fine aggregates are not widely used for concrete constituents.


The compressive strength test is done with a composition of 20% local Palaran fine aggregate, fine local aggregate Palaran ampyangan 80%, and use of additive materials for about 0.3%.


From the results of testing, the average compressive strength of concrete with a age of 28 days, normal concrete uses a higher local fine aggregate of 29.88 Mpa compared to normal concrete using Palu's fine aggregate of 26.41 Mpa, because local fine aggregates have a larger grain size and higher roughness than the fine aggregates of Palu. Comparison of local concrete using additive added material is higher than normal local concrete which is equal to 32,17 MPa. This is because additive material has a function as a water reducing agent so that it can add strength to the concrete.
