Abstract

Fly ash is an added material that is quite popular nowadays to be used as a substitute for a part of cement in a concrete mixture. In this study, researchers used fly ash which aims to determine the effect on porous concrete and determine the value of compressive strength obtained by adding fly ash.

This test uses 0%, 15%, 20% varicose from the weight of cement with a ratio of 1: 5 between cement and gravel with a sample size of 18 cylinders while compressive strength testing is carried out at 14 and 28 days.

Based on the results of testing the porous concrete compressive strength obtained the average value of each variation, namely for the age of 14 consecutive days, namely 5.28 Mpa, 3.01 Mpa, 2.07 Mpa, while the compressive strength at 28 days has the average value is 5.85 Mpa, 3.96 Mpa, 2.26 Mpa. The value obtained from the results of compressive strength testing showed that the addition of the larger fly ash can reduce the value of compressive strength so that the use of fly ash must be less than 15% in order to produce a greater compressive strength based on the results of the test.
